Tripoli – The Soap Khan Story

Did you know that Tripoli is also well-known for its soap production? Yes, that is true. You might be wondering what makes the soap adored and preferred by many people all over the world. The soap is fragrant and hand-made. Apart from those facts, the soap has more stories to tell too.

We all love the sites to see and the craft in Tripoli, right? What makes it more interesting is the history of the soap production and the factory. You might think that “it’s just a simple factory. What makes it special?” Here is the story.

Di you know that the soap factory is previously used as a military refuge and barracks? Now, I got your attention. This barracks was created and intentionally positioned in the central part of the area to oversee people’s activities and to easily put off any uprising.

The barracks has walls that are tough. These walls withstood several disputes. In addition to the strong walls, it has cracks or holes for assailing enemies. This building was indeed a battle area that protected many.
For a moment, Fakhr-ed Din’s army used the barracks. After that, the barracks was left unused. The quarters or army camp was left empty. The residents of Tripoli realized that the space will be wasted if no one uses it. It will be better if they do something out of the abandoned barracks. I am sure that you will agree with this too.

The people of Tripoli prepared a petition to have the place cleaned and used by them. Right after that, the barracks turned into a soap khan that people all over the world know.

Day by day, bars and bars of soap are sold partly because of the history of the factory. Interesting, isn’t it? Visit Tripoli and see the beauty of the soap factory now.

Do you find the history unbelievable? Tripoli is indeed an out-of-the-ordinary place to go to. If you want more information about Tripoli and its sites, you can click here.
